  • 1 cup blackberry puree
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then mix in the blackberry puree and buttermilk.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Once cooled, frost as desired and serve.
