Cream of Mushroom Soup

A comforting and delicious cream of mushroom soup with the delightful addition of turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the flour and garlic powder, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the chicken broth, whisking constantly until smooth.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the heavy cream, crumbled turkey bacon, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  7. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot.
