French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delicious and comforting casserole that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken and orzo pasta.

  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the orzo according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked orzo, shredded chicken, French onion soup, half of the mozzarella, and all of the Parmesan cheese.
  4. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed mushrooms or caramelized onions.
