  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, olive oil, garlic, and herbs into the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal parts.
  6. Braid the three parts together and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
