Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak Meatballs

A delicious and healthier take on the classic Salisbury steak, made with tender meatballs and a rich gravy.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in size.
  3. Place meatballs in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour beef broth over the meatballs and add sliced mushrooms.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Before serving, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the slow cooker to thicken the gravy. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sauté the mushrooms before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete meal.
