  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup green food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt until combined.
  5. Divide the dough in half. Color one half with red food coloring and the other half with green.
  6. Roll out each color into a rectangle, then layer the two rectangles on top of each other and roll them up.
  7. Slice the roll into cookies and place them on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool before serving.
